Researchers have developed a method to accelerate electrons to TeV levels using curved laser beams in laser wakefield accelerators (LWFAs). By using curved channels for the laser beams, the researchers were able to inject the laser beam into the continuous cavity, solving the reinjection issue that has limited the acceleration potential of LWFAs. This advancement brings us closer to the possibility of affordable desktop TeV-level particle accelerators.
