Marvel Rivals slashes install size in Season 9.5 texture overhaul
Marvel Rivals' Season 9.5 update uses a texture compression overhaul to shrink install sizes by about 15GB on PS5/Xbox (roughly 20% from 73GB) and by around 40GB on PC (over 57%), with the caveat that players will need to re-download the full package when the patch lands on August 7. The dev notes the initial update will be larger due to repackaging, but the final footprint will be much lighter while preserving visual fidelity, as the game continues to receive content and updates.
