PGA Tour Exits Hawaii as The Sentry and Sony Open Depart in 2027
The PGA Tour will leave Hawaii after the 2027 schedule, with The Sentry at Kapalua and the Sony Open at Waialae dropping from the calendar. The Sentry was canceled earlier this year due to Maui’s water issues, and commissioner Brian Rolapp has floated starting the season later on a West Coast marquee venue, potentially moving The Sentry to Torrey Pines. The Sony Open could be revived as a Champions Tour event in the future, marking the end of Hawaii’s iconic winter golf calendar.
