Brazil's The Town Festival Defends Marilyn Manson Booking Amid Abuse Allegations
Brazil's The Town Festival organizers have defended their decision to book Marilyn Manson as a support act for Slipknot's 2027 stadium tour, despite ongoing public controversy over abuse allegations against the musician. The festival stated that Manson was included as part of Slipknot's broader tour package and emphasized that he has not been criminally convicted. This stance follows a wave of fan backlash across multiple continents, where some attendees have vowed to boycott shows in protest, while others support the pairing due to overlapping fanbases. The tour, produced by Live Nation, includes dates at London's Wembley Stadium and various South American venues, with Manson supporting Slipknot on the UK and South American legs. The controversy resurfaces after Los Angeles prosecutors declined to bring criminal charges against Manson in 2025, citing statute of limitations issues and insufficient evidence for sexual assault charges.
