Nebraska cuts running back Tikey Hayes after 33-day stint
Nebraska dismissed running back Tikey Hayes on August 17, 2026, just 33 days after he joined the program. Hayes, a former Penn State recruit who spent time at Iowa Western Community College, had practiced with the team's top units but was cut before the season opener. The move reduces Nebraska's scholarship running back count to six, intensifying the competition among remaining players like Mekhi Nelson and Isaiah Mozee to replace departed star Emmett Johnson.
