Five contenders vie for NC-11 GOP nomination after Edwards
Five candidates—Jennifer Balkcom, Ken McKim, Chad Nesbitt, Matthew Burrill, and Kristie Sluder—are being considered by North Carolina's 11th Congressional District Executive Committee to replace Chuck Edwards on the GOP ticket for NC-11; the committee will decide at a 6:30 p.m. meeting on Aug. 10, after Tim Moffitt said he wouldn’t run, with NC GOP executive director Zach Almond confident they’ll select a strong nominee for November.
