Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston of The New Day are leaving WWE by mutual decision, joining JC Mateo and Tonga Loa in a wave of departures; The New Day has been a staple since 2014 (Big E retired after a neck injury), and it’s unclear if more talent exits are on the way.
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, formerly of The New Day, along with JC Mateo and Tonga Loa, have reportedly left WWE and were added to the company’s Alumni page after recent roster cuts and WrestleMania-related departures; Fightful and Bodyslam report Kingston and Woods mutually parted ways with WWE.
WWE has confirmed that Tonga Loa, a member of The Bloodline, will make his in-ring debut on the May 31 edition of SmackDown, teaming with Tama Tonga to face The Street Profits. This follows his interference at WWE Backlash 2024, which helped The Bloodline secure a victory. Additionally, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will appear on tonight's show.
The May 31, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown will feature the in-ring debut of Tonga Loa and the tag team debut of Guerrillas of Destiny, as Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga face The Street Profits.
