Yale QB Dante Reno throws 4 TDs in 41-24 win one day after father Tony Reno dies
Yale quarterback Dante Reno threw for four touchdowns and 298 yards to lead a 41-24 victory over Merrimack on October 3, 2026. The game occurred just one day after the university announced the death of his father, former head coach Tony Reno, at age 52. Dante dedicated the win to his father, stating that his late coach would have wanted him to play. Tony Reno, who stepped down in February 2026 due to health complications, finished his 14-year tenure with an 83-49 record and five Ivy League championships.
