A fatal rollover crash on Southeast Powell and 28th Avenue in Portland has become the city's 63rd traffic-related death this year. The driver was found deceased at the scene, and the Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team is leading the investigation.
A 32-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a car in central Las Vegas valley. The crash occurred when the driver of the Nissan made a left turn in the path of the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead. The driver of the Nissan showed no signs of impairment and remained at the scene. This is the 61st traffic-related death in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2023.
A 52-year-old man died after being hit by a car on the south side of Des Moines. The pedestrian was in the roadway when he was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by a 64-year-old woman. There is no indication of driver impairment, and police continue to investigate the crash. This is the fourth traffic-related death in Des Moines in 2023.
