UK-born contractor killed in Roxborough as DHS ties victim to traveling-conman fraud group
In Philadelphia’s Roxborough neighborhood, 20-year-old Salis Hanrahan, who was from the United Kingdom and in the U.S. illegally, was shot and killed by homeowner George Barr, who has been charged with murder. Federal officials say Hanrahan was allegedly affiliated with the Traveling Conman Fraud Group, a transnational crime ring that targets homeowners with overpriced, low-quality construction. Hanrahan’s wife says he leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter, and ICE/CBP say they did not encounter him. The investigation is ongoing and authorities are seeking tips.
