Marlins Shuffle: Garrett Sent Down, Snelling Out, Alderman on IL
The Miami Marlins optioned left-hander Braxton Garrett back to Triple-A Jacksonville after a rough major-league return, while rookie Robby Snelling is sidelined with a UCL sprain and will undergo further testing to decide on a possible surgery. With the fifth rotation spot unsettled, Janson Junk and Sandy Alcantara are lined up for the Atlanta series, and other Jacksonville prospects (including top-50 aiming Thomas White) are in the mix. Alderman was placed on the minor-league injured list after a collision at first base, removing a potential power-hitting option at first base for now.
