Brooks and Yearwood Launch Annual 'Dolly Day' Charity Event
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood will honor Dolly Parton annually by dedicating September 25 as 'Dolly Day' at their Nashville venue, Friends in Low Places. The date references Parton's hit '9 to 5,' and all proceeds from that day will be donated to the Imagination Library, the children's literacy program Parton founded. This follows Parton's death on August 25 at age 80 after a brief cancer battle, which prompted widespread tributes across the music industry.
