Tropical Depression 3 intensifies in the Atlantic, poses hurricane threat.
Tropical Depression 3 has formed in the Atlantic Ocean and is moving west at 21 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph. The system is expected to approach the Lesser Antilles late this week and is forecast to become a hurricane in a few days. The National Hurricane Center is also tracking a second wave off the coast of Africa with a 30% chance for development in the next 48 hours and a 40% chance for development in the next seven days. There is currently no threat to Florida.
