Alaska Probe and California Ruling Escalate Midterm Election Disputes
With the 2026 US midterms approaching, political tensions have intensified over election integrity and campaign tactics. Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy has ordered a criminal investigation into the Democratic Senate campaign of Mary Peltola, following reports that her team recruited a namesake candidate to split votes from incumbent Republican Dan Sullivan. Simultaneously, a federal judge rejected a Trump administration bid to segregate 20,000 ballots in California, citing constitutional concerns. As President Trump and former President Barack Obama trade sharp criticisms on the campaign trail, these legal and political disputes threaten to overshadow the upcoming November 3 vote.
