President Trump will host 9/11 first responders at the White House on Sept. 8, where a 21-foot steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center's South Tower will be displayed on the White House Ellipse as part of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation's 'Steel Across America' tour, with additional commemorations at the Pentagon and at the World Trade Center site.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced 500 free World Cup tickets for New Yorkers, allocated to working families with kids, first responders, veterans and military families, distributed through the YMCA chapters across NYC, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland, in partnership with Tunnel to Towers and with Uber support; each ticket includes a free round-trip shuttle to the NY/NJ Stadium.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation will pay off the mortgage on NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller's home and provide $10,000 towards his son's education, while the Promise of Hope Foundation will cover his funeral costs. Diller, who was shot and killed during a traffic stop, is being remembered as a dedicated officer, and former President Donald Trump is expected to attend his wake.
