In the Season 8 finale of Love Island USA, Trinity Tatum and Bryce Dettloff were voted America’s favorite couple, taking home the $100,000 prize (each $50,000 before taxes) as four couples reached the finale: Aniya Harvey & Carl Schmidt (runner-up), Melanie Moreno & Sincere Rhea, and Zach Georgiou & Kayda Bosse.
Ken Jennings says he would be excited if Jamie Ding reaches 75 wins on Jeopardy!, joking that he’d eat his hat and even joking about a trap door replacing him as host. Saturday Night Live kicks off its March 7 episode with a cold open spoofing President Trump’s firing of Kristi Noem as Homeland Security secretary. Ashley Padilla plays Noem, declaring she wasn’t fired and quipping that she “self-deported,” as Colin Jost’s Pete Hegseth announces she’s been reassigned “under the bus.” The sketch notes Noem’s future, mentioning a Denver-area WeWork, while Trump’s pick to replace her is floated as Markwayne Mullin. The episode also features host Ryan Gosling and a surprise appearance by Harry Styles, with Styles set to host again next week.
Actor Bobby J. Brown, known for The Wire and Law & Order: SVU, died at 62 in Maryland from diffuse thermal injury and smoke inhalation; the death was ruled accidental. TMZ reported a barn fire started when Brown attempted to jump-start a vehicle, with his wife suffering severe burns while trying to save him. Brown was a former professional boxer and also directed documentaries.
