Hearthstone will retire the Twist mode with Patch 35.4 after a tepid reception. The team admits communication gaps and says bold ideas will live on in limited-time formats like Tavern Brawls, with ongoing plans to explore new ways to play and to share future developments more clearly.
Hearthstone's Twist Mode returns on June 1 with the new season "Whizbang’s Heroes," featuring 19 new Heroes, each with unique decks, Hero Powers, and Passive effects. Heroes are unlocked by having their corresponding Legendary cards in your collection. The season will include weekly balance updates and will be followed by another season in July with additional Heroes. Twist Mode will then go dark until later in the year when it revisits the Wonders and Caverns of Time set.
