Workers at Lunds & Byerlys, represented by UFCW Local 663, may go on strike this weekend if they cannot reach a new contract agreement with the grocery chain. Lunds and Byerlys responded to the announcement that employees in the West Metro represented by the union UFCW Local 663 voted to authorize a strike. The union said it will announce details, including strike dates, during a news conference Monday morning. Lunds and Byerlys released a statement saying they value their team members and have proposed wages and a healthcare plan that are among the best in the industry. The company is disappointed the union chose to take a strike authorization vote and remains hopeful progress can be made toward a mutually beneficial agreement.
