Putin’s Top Decorated General Anton Grunis Dies in Donetsk, Ukraine Claims
Major General Anton Grunis, who recently received Russia’s highest state honor for the capture of Kostiantynivka, has died. Ukrainian forces claim he was killed in a drone raid on September 12, while Russian officials confirmed his death without specifying the cause. Grunis commanded the 4th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade, a unit central to Russian operations in the Donetsk region. His death marks a significant loss for Moscow, occurring shortly after he personally briefed President Vladimir Putin on the city's status.
