Deaths of Unaccompanied Migrant Teens in US Custody Raise Concerns.

An unaccompanied 17-year-old Honduran migrant housed at a Florida shelter died while under the care of the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement. The minor was taken to the hospital after being found unconscious and was pronounced dead an hour later. An investigation by a medical examiner is underway, and the ORR said it will continue to receive more information on the death from the care provider. This is the second unaccompanied migrant child to die in the custody of HHS this year.
