China Releases Regulations for Non-Bank Payment Firms' Oversight
China's State Council has published new rules for the supervision and management of non-bank payment institutions, which will come into effect on May 1. The rules include stricter licensing regulations, stronger risk management measures, and requirements for the protection of user information. Non-bank payment platforms will also be required to clearly mark prices for their services and charge reasonable fees. Violations of the rules may result in fines, restrictions on payment operations, or even the revocation of payment business licenses.
