Expanding US Offshore Wind Farms Powering the Nation's Grid
The first phase of the Vineyard Wind 1 offshore wind farm in Massachusetts is set to come online within weeks, delivering around 65 megawatts of clean energy to power 30,000 homes and businesses. The full project, consisting of 62 turbines, is expected to generate electricity for over 400,000 homes and businesses, reduce carbon emissions by 1.6 million metric tons per year, and save customers $1.4 billion over the first 20 years of operation. This milestone marks a significant step forward for the US offshore wind industry.
