A TikTok user in the UK has gone viral after discovering an 18th-century water well under his kitchen floor and deciding to incorporate it into his home's aesthetic. The retired plumber had been pulling up the original foundations to install underfloor heating when he came across the well, which likely dates back to the home's early days as a coach stop in the 1700s. The well is about 17 feet deep, and the current plan is to fit it with a transparent cover and special walk-on glass.
