
Paramount Sets Freddy Krueger Return in Elm Street Reboot Under New Primal Label
Paramount has closed a deal to adapt the original Nightmare on Elm Street screenplay for a new film under its Paramount Primal label, with domestic rights licensed from the Wes Craven estate (Iya Labunka and Jonathan Craven). The untitled project will be set in the Elm Street universe and revolve around Freddy Krueger; it is in development with the Paramount Primal team, with producers and executives including J.D. Lifshitz, Raphael Margules, and Marc Toberoff, while Paramount works to acquire New Line’s parent Warner Bros. Discovery.
