Ralph W. Hemecker, a veteran TV director and showrunner behind Witchblade, Blue Bloods, The Flash and The X-Files, died at 65 in Glendale, California; he directed dozens of episodes across major series, led Witchblade as showrunner, and founded Mythic Films, with the cause of death not disclosed.
Ralph W. Hemecker, a veteran TV director, writer, producer and showrunner whose credits include directing 31 episodes of Blue Bloods and 28 of Once Upon a Time, died July 10 at his Glendale home at age 65. His career spanned The X-Files, Millennium, Witchblade and The Flash among many others, and he served as showrunner on the Witchblade TV series. Born June 12, 1961, he was a Bucknell University graduate. He is survived by family; memorial donations are requested to the SEAL Future Foundation, with a celebration of life to be announced.
