UB names Buffalo-native Caroline Genco as 16th president, first woman to lead the University at Buffalo

Caroline Attardo Genco, PhD, former Tufts provost, has been named the University at Buffalo’s 16th president — the first woman to lead UB in its 180-year history. The appointment, effective Aug. 10 after an international search, aims to further UB’s growth in research funding, student success, and global engagement under her leadership.

Maurie McInnis Appointed Yale's 24th President

Maurie McInnis has been appointed as the 24th president of Yale University, making her the first woman to hold the position permanently. McInnis, currently the president of Stony Brook University, will succeed Peter Salovey and start her new role on July 1. She brings extensive experience in higher education leadership and scholarship, particularly in art history and the politics of art and slavery in the southern United States. McInnis has also been involved in climate change initiatives and has served as a Yale trustee since 2022.
