Musk's AI 'Odyssey' Debuts as Seven-Minute 'Slop' Amid Nolan Controversy
Elon Musk’s xAI released the first seven-minute episode of an AI-generated 'The Odyssey' on October 23, 2026, partially fulfilling a July promise of a full-length film by year’s end. Created with Wonder Studios and director Dev Walker, the clip was widely criticized as 'soulless slop' and 'pure garbage' for lacking narrative coherence and historical accuracy. The release follows months of Musk’s public attacks on Christopher Nolan’s live-action adaptation, which grossed over $1.78 billion. While the footage shows technical progress in AI video generation, critics argue it fails as a cinematic product, highlighting the gap between visual realism and artistic substance.
