Marine jet crashes near Rimrock Lake; pilot ejects, wildfire sparked
A U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 Hornet crashed on the western edge of Rimrock Lake during a routine training flight. The pilot ejected and was rescued; the crash started a wildfire that drew Naches Fire Department and U.S. Forest Service responders. Authorities closed the 1200 Road, evacuated campers, and firefighters protected nearby structures as the incident was being managed by local authorities.
