Microsoft and Japan dismantle YAM Store, a cybercrime marketplace behind 1 billion scam messages
Microsoft and Japan’s National Police Agency dismantled YAM Store, a Chinese-language cybercrime marketplace that facilitated over one billion scam messages since January 2026. The operation targeted CoGUI and Iron Man phishing kits, disabling 20,000 accounts and blocking 100,000 domains. The takedown, which involved a civil lawsuit in Florida, aims to disrupt a global network targeting 75,000 organizations across 150 countries.
