Zenith Chronomaster Solo Sport dives into high-beat accuracy with ZENCLASP

Zenith expands its lineup with the Chronomaster Solo Sport, a 40mm, 200m-water-resistant diver that uses a ceramic dial with textured Z-patterns and a ceramic bezel, powered by the in-house El Primero 3620 high-beat movement (60-hour power reserve) and a three-link steel bracelet with the ZENCLASP micro-adjust. Available now in no-date ($9,800) and date ($10,900) models, the collection emphasizes distinct dial details, a shark-tooth minute track, and a robust bracelet system as differentiators in a crowded dive-watch segment.

They run the in-house El Primero 3620 (36,000 vph, 60-hour power reserve, silicon escapement) and are priced at CHF 8,900 for the no-date model and CHF 9,900 for the date versions. While they resemble the Chronomaster Sport, the four three-handers offer a simpler, still recognizable take on the line, with the brown dial version providing a warmer option.

Zenith's Original "Clicker" Remote: A Mechanical Marvel

The Zenith Space Command, one of the first wireless television remotes, featured a mechanical design that used sound instead of light or batteries. By pressing a button, a spring-loaded hammer struck an aluminum rod, emitting an ultrasonic frequency that triggered a circuit in the television. This design allowed the remote to work without being pointed directly at the receiver and eliminated the need for batteries. While modern remotes have become more complex, the minimalist aesthetic of the Space Command is making a comeback with the rise of streaming devices.
