From Industrial to Culinary Fame: Zibo's Barbecue Draws Millions.
Zibo, an industrial city in eastern China, has become a tourist hotspot due to its cheap and delicious barbecue. Millions of domestic visitors have flocked to the city, attracted by influencers and a chance to let off steam after lockdowns. Zibo has more than 1,270 barbecue joints, and the city has been dubbed "China's outdoor barbecue capital". Local authorities have been quick to capitalise on the sudden influx of visitors, with a barbecue zone that can accommodate 10,000 people and designated buses and trains to bring tourists to and from the hottest barbecue spots.
