Ford to Spend $270 Million on Rear Camera Replacement in New Recall

Ford is recalling 169,000 vehicles in the US to replace rearview cameras and update software, resulting in a $270 million charge. This is the latest in a series of recalls related to rear camera issues by the automaker. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has warned that the loss of the rearview camera image could increase the risk of accidents. The affected vehicles include certain models of the Explorer, Aviator, Corsair, Transit, Navigator, and Bronco. Ford has received warranty reports of rear camera failures and two minor crashes, but no injuries have been reported.
