Tesla's Charging Partnerships with Ford and GM Boost EV Industry.

Ford and General Motors have made deals with Tesla to use its charging stations with an adapter and to make Tesla's charging technology standard on their own EVs starting in 2025. Tesla's Superchargers use a proprietary plug design that doesn't work with non-Tesla EVs, while most other EVs and charging stations in the U.S. use the public domain Combined Charging System (CCS) plug standard. The shortcomings of CCS have been a growing concern for Detroit automakers as they ramp up EV production. The deals should go a long way toward leveling the charging playing field and improving accessibility for new EV customers.
