Toyota Criticizes California's EV Regulations as Unrealistic

Toyota has criticized California's electric vehicle regulations, calling them "impossible" to meet and warning they could "distort the industry." Despite these concerns, Toyota plans to launch several EVs in the U.S., including a three-row SUV by 2026, and is investing in battery technology and EV plants. California's regulations aim for 35% of new vehicle sales to be zero-emissions by 2026, a target Toyota's North American COO Jack Hollis claims is unachievable. However, EV adoption is growing, with 22% of new cars sold in California being electric.
