Ford Slashes F-150 Lightning Production Amid Declining EV Demand

Ford is cutting production of the F-150 Lightning due to lower than expected demand, shifting resources to increase production of the Bronco and Ranger models. The Michigan plant where the electric pickup is built will transition from two production shifts to one, impacting roughly 1,400 workers. Ford plans to transfer workers to other facilities and is hiring 900 more employees for increased Bronco and Ranger production. The company retooled the facility for an annual F-150 Lightning capacity of up to 150,000, but demand hasn't kept up, leading to the production cutback.
