Tesla Regains Top EV Seller Title as BYD's Q1 Sales Decline

China's top electric vehicle maker, BYD, reported a 43% decline in first quarter sales, handing back the title of world's biggest EV seller to Tesla. Despite a 13.4% increase in first-quarter sales compared to a year ago, BYD's quarterly drop allowed Tesla to reclaim the top spot with 386,810 deliveries. The decline for both companies comes amid softer demand and a slowdown in the Chinese market, where local rivals, led by BYD, engaged in a price war for buyers.
