Intel to Invest Billions in New Chip Plant in Poland and Germany.

Intel plans to build a $5 billion assembly-and-test facility in Poland as part of its efforts to reduce reliance on Asian manufacturing and collect huge subsidies from governments. The chipmaker is also nearing an $11 billion deal for a much larger factory in Germany. Intel committed to a massive expansion of its factories in Europe and the United States, anticipating billions of dollars in aid from American and European governments. Intel is counting on a share of the $52 billion in federal CHIPS Act funding Congress approved last year to help offset the cost of its new factories in Arizona and Ohio.
