Former NFL co-owner sentenced to over 6 years in crypto scam.

Reggie Fowler, a former co-owner of the NFL's Minnesota Vikings, has been sentenced to 75 months in prison for his role in a $700 million cryptocurrency scam. Fowler admitted to five federal criminal charges, including wire and bank fraud and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money-transmitting business. He also admitted to defrauding those connected with the failed Alliance of American Football in 2018. Prosecutors claim that Fowler evaded federal law by processing hundreds of millions of dollars of unregulated transactions on behalf of cryptocurrency exchanges as a shadow bank. As part of his prison sentence, Fowler has been ordered to forfeit $740 million and pay restitution of $53 million to the AAF.
