Bitcoin ETF Demand Drives Record-Breaking $73,000 Price Surge

The cryptocurrency investment landscape has seen a surge of over $12 billion in the first quarter of 2024, surpassing the total inflow for all of 2021, with a significant portion directed towards newly launched spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States. This influx of capital reflects growing mainstream acceptance of digital assets and has propelled total assets under management across crypto funds to approach $100 billion. However, regulatory hurdles still pose challenges, as evidenced by the setback faced by the First Trust-SkyBridge’s BTC ETF Trust. Despite this, Bitcoin remains buoyant, trading at around $72,577, with a 1.2% increase in the past 24 hours and nearly 10% over the week.
