Biden Administration Gives Green Light to Alaska Gas Exports

The Biden Administration has approved LNG exports from the proposed $39-billion Alaska LNG Project, which is expected to start delivering from 2030 on average about 3.5 billion cubic feet of gas per day, much of it for international markets. Environmentalists have criticized the decision, but the Department of Energy said that the project will provide economic benefits for Alaska and the US, as well as lower natural gas prices in Alaska. The LNG may be sourced from natural gas supplies from Prudhoe Bay and Point Thomson fields on the North Slope of Alaska.
