"Governor Hochul's Renewable Energy Plan Gains Momentum with Offshore Wind Auction and Subsidy Adjustments"

Governor Kathy Hochul of New York has announced the schedule for expedited offshore wind and land-based renewable energy solicitations as part of the state's 10-Point Action Plan to boost its renewable industry. The solicitations, which support New York's climate goals, will be released on November 30, 2023, with bids due in January 2024. The offshore wind solicitation will have final proposals due on January 25, 2024, while the land-based renewables solicitation will have a two-step process with eligibility requirements due on December 21, 2023, and final proposals due on January 31, 2024. The awards for both solicitations are expected to be announced in early 2024. These expedited solicitations aim to align renewable energy projects and bring them in line with New York's Climate Act goals.
