Spain's Renewable Energy Powers Country for 9 Hours

Spain was able to power itself entirely with renewable energy for nine hours on a single day last week, using wind, solar, and water energy. Renewable energy now accounts for about one-third of electricity generation worldwide, and the shift to green energy is profitable and reduces costs. The addition of solar panels in Spain has reduced the demand for other sources of energy when the sun is out. While not eliminating the need for oil and gas, advances in green energy are a way to reduce it and help ease carbon emissions.
