Aviation industry faces challenges in meeting 2050 net zero target.

Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker has criticized the aviation industry's emissions goals, saying it is on track to miss its target to achieve net zero status in 2050. He believes the industry's targets are unrealistic given the current volumes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) being produced. Currently, SAF production is less than 0.1% of what is needed for aviation to achieve net zero. However, Al Baker still believes that net zero is achievable, but the industry is far behind to achieve it in the 2050 timeframe.
