Massive Texas Egg Recall Impacts Kroger, Brookshire's

More than 19 million eggs produced in Texas by Midwest Poultry Services are being recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination. The voluntary recall covers 1,589,577 dozen eggs sold under Kroger, Simple Truth, Brookshire’s, Country Morning and Sunups, distributed to Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana, Brookshire’s in six states, and other retailers. Affected cartons carry code P-1950 or 0840962 and best-by dates July 20–Aug 17, 2026 with Julian dates 157–184. No illnesses have been reported; consumers who purchased these eggs should discard them or return for a full refund.
