Moderna's Advancements in mRNA Vaccines: Easier to Use and Effective Against Flu-Covid Combo

Moderna CEO, Stéphane Bancel, announced that the company is developing two new vaccines that will be easier to administer and won't require the same complex thawing process as the current COVID-19 booster shots. The standalone flu vaccine and the combination COVID-19 and flu vaccine will both be "refrigerator-stable," meaning they can be stored in a normal fridge temperature for several months. The new generation of mRNA vaccines will also be available in pre-filled syringes, making them more convenient for clinicians and pharmacists. This development will improve accessibility and distribution of vaccines, especially in areas with limited infrastructure or extreme heat.
