Nationwide Cucumber Recall Due to Salmonella Outbreak

The FDA is investigating cucumbers as the potential source of a nationwide Salmonella outbreak that has hospitalized 54 people and affected 162 individuals across 25 states and the District of Columbia. Fresh Start Produce, the cucumber producer under investigation, has recalled the potentially contaminated cucumbers and is cooperating with health authorities. Further testing is underway to confirm if the Salmonella strain found in the cucumbers matches the one causing the illnesses.
