Eli Lilly's Obesity Drug Now Accessible in U.S. Pharmacies

Eli Lilly's obesity treatment, Zepbound, is now available in U.S. pharmacies with a monthly cost of $550 for customers without insurance coverage. Zepbound, which is expected to generate $2 billion in sales in 2024, is part of the growing market for weight-loss drugs. It has been added to the list of preferred medicines by Cigna, a major drug benefits company. The drug's list price is $1,059.87 per month, lower than Novo Nordisk's Wegovy, another popular obesity drug. Zepbound and Wegovy are both GLP-1 agonists originally designed for treating type 2 diabetes. Eli Lilly's shares have surged 60% this year, making it one of the world's most valuable listed companies.
