Medicare to Cover FDA-Approved Alzheimer's Drugs

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has confirmed that Medicare will cover amyloid-targeted drugs to slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease once they receive full approval, not just accelerated approval, and where real-world data can be collected. This announcement comes as Eisai and Biogen's Leqembi (lecanemab) faces an advisory committee meeting of outside FDA experts next Friday.
