Forgotten $250 Wine Bottle in Basement Now Valued at $80,000

A California man is selling a rare 3-liter bottle of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche wine from 1971 that he bought for $250 in the 1970s and left unopened in his basement for decades. The auction house, Bonhams Skinner, estimates the bottle could sell for between $50,000 and $80,000, with the possibility of reaching $100,000. The bottle is exceptionally rare, and only a few 3-liter bottles were made. The quality of the wine is considered exceptional, and the auction includes five other vintage bottles from the man's collection.
