"Financial Insecurity: Majority of Americans Struggle to Feel Secure"

A survey by Bankrate.com reveals that most Americans do not feel financially secure, with 72% stating they are not completely secure and 26% believing they will never achieve financial security. The respondents on average said they would need to earn $233,000 to feel financially secure and $483,000 to feel "rich," while the average salary in 2021 was $75,203. Rising inflation, housing costs, and high levels of debt were cited as major factors contributing to financial insecurity. Women cited higher salary requirements than men. Despite some confidence in the U.S. economy, anxiety over financial health persists due to various financial strains.
